There were huge rocks that were dug out of the foundation.

Ken had the excavator place them around the island and

in the front back and side of the house.

A Real "Pane" in the Glass

Ken knocked out the glass block in the bathroom.

Breaking the glass was actually kind of fun.

We took out both the top and bottom logs to make the

living and dining room windows bigger. A room with a view.

I "Chink" Therefore I Am

Caity and Chris had to remove all the chinking (filler between the logs) from the house, inside

and out.

Then all the nails, about  4" apart, had to be removed

Kitchen Duty: A Real Mess Hall

Before

We tore out the ceiling and bagged up loads of old insulation.

A real floor to ceiling makeover.

Good Bye Mudroom a.k.a. Home of the Rock Chuck

The "mudroom" was the first thing on the house to go.

The fur hat hanging on the wall, along with the mousy, woodchucky 

smell made me jumpy and skittish.
